Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool passes directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log of those terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email messages may be retained long enough to answer and manage the correspondence. They remain within the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can send standard technical and usage details to the servers:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers combine that activity into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although a feature may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Klamath County guidance points to the sheriff, Oregon Circuit Court, Oregon State Police CJIS, and the Oregon Sex Offender Online Search. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles, and this site is not an FCRA consumer reporting agency.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern information submitted there. Review the provider's terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Klamath County offices, Oregon agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave, the destination's privacy rules apply. Check them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites and tailor advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect collected data, but no Internet system is entirely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Data identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence. Oregon's Unlawful Trade Practices Act, ORS 646.605 through 646.656, may apply to consumer practices, while the Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311 through 192.478, governs records held by Oregon public bodies rather than this private site. You may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
